Who uses senior move managers?
Senior move managers are utilized primarily by seniors or their adult children. We may be contacted, however, by a variety of individuals, including family members, bank and trust officers, realtors, social workers, attorneys, senior living communities, allied health providers, home staging professionals, doctors, visiting nurses or professional organizers.
What makes Next Steps different from a moving company?
We provide a single point of contact for all phases of the move process. From space planning and locating a mover in the beginning to setting up your new home and postmove support, we are there for you. We minimize the chaos and stress associated with moving by coordinating all aspects of any type of move. Next Steps can create and execute a seamless action plan, customized to the client's wishes. With the gentle, expert guidance of a senior move manager, older adults and families still make the key decisions but avoid the costly mistakes and remorse that can occur during major lifestyle transitions.
How are your services delivered and by whom?
Next Steps provides a number of services directly, but for some services we function in more of a management role. We can schedule cleaning, repairs, lawn care, appraisals, and movers, for instance, as well as coordinate the timely delivery of those services within an overall move plan. Next Steps uses “progressive billing” based on completed work at several points in the course of a project for all services we provide directly to our clients. Services provided by any of our Preferred Service Partners are billed separately and payable to each provider individually.
What if I want to stay in my own home?
We offer extensive, practical knowledge about the costs, quality and availability of various local resources for seniors who may need some assistance but who prefer to “age in place.” Senior move managers frequently assist individuals who choose to stay in their own homes, but require services ranging from organizational assistance to moderate home renovation in order to do so safely and comfortably.
How much do your services cost?
It is virtually impossible to calculate what a specific move might cost without an on site assessment. As such, we offer a free, no obligation 90-minute consultation which will allow us to determine what services are needed. Our fee is then based on the package of services agreed to by the client; we will never bill by the hour. Additionally, we will always outline the cost of a project through a written estimate before any payment is requested.
